Text alert

Members of the public can also register to receive instant information in the event of major water disruptions, road closures and other emergencies by means of a free text alert service, which will ensure they receive updates on the emergencies in their area.

Once emergency information is placed on the Council’s website and face-book page, it will be transmitted by text alert to the people who have registered their contact details. The text-alert database is compiled by location, which will ensure people will receive information relating to their area only.

People wishing to register for the text alert facility can do so by e-mailing details of their mobile phone to: communications@sligococo.ie or by registering online
