Casual Trading
Under Section 6 of the Casual Trading Act 1995 each Local Authority shall make Bye Laws in relation to the Control, Regulation, Supervision and Administration of Casual Trading in its functional area.
Sligo Borough Council has recently adopted new Casual Trading Bye Laws titled Sligo Borough Council Casual Trading Act 1995 Bye Laws 2008. These Bye Laws can be viewed in the Download Section.
Sligo Borough Council has one designated Casual Trading area within the Borough Market Place.
Trading Days are Friday and Saturday between 8am and 7pm.
Trading Areas are numbered and outlined in yellow. Map of Trading Area is available in Download Section.
Casual Trading Licence Fees are detailed in the Schedule of Bye Laws below.

Trading Bay Number’s: 3A, 7, 8
Annual Fee for 12 Month Period €400
Minimum Fee for 6 Month Period €230
Trading Bay No’s : 3, 4 , 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18,
Annual Fee for 12 month Period €540
Minimum Fee for 6 Month Period €300
