Mitchell Curley Park

Mitchell Curley Park , owned by Sligo Borough Council, is located on the urban fringe of Sligo City , on the Ballydoogan road west of the city centre. Drive approximately 300 metres past St Marys GAA club with the entrance on the North side of the Ballydoogan road. The total park covers an area of approximately 4.9 hectares ( 12
acres).

The park includes
- Playing pitches x 3
- A toddlers and childrens playground area built to European safety standards
- A teenage multisports arena
- Over 1.8 km of walking trail suitable for elderly, wheelchair and disabled use
The Mayor of Sligo, Councillor Tommy Cummins, officially opened the park on 14th June 2003. Sligo Borough Council are committed to the development of proper recreational infrastructure for Sligo city and the development of this park marks the first phase of an ambitious programme to develop 3 major parks in Sligo, Mitchell Curley Park at Balldoogan, Forthill and Cleveragh
Booking of the playing pitches can be arranged via Sligo Regional Sports Centre on 071
9160539. Pitches are allocated on a priority basis - clubs with seasonal bookings have first call on the pitches , followed by schools, and casual social hire. All bookings are as per Sligo Borough Councils Conditions of Hire for playing pitches. Use of all other facilities in the park including children’s play areas and teenager multi sports unit is free and does not require any advance booking.
