The new Planning and Development Regulations 2006 ( S.I 685
of 2006 ) were signed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local
Government, Mr. Dick Roche T.D on 21st December 2006. The regulations have two
functions:

to update and amend the Planning and Development
Regulations 2001 to make changes and updates to the Development Management
System, and
-
to underpin the new strategic consent procedure
established under the Planning and Development ( Strategic Infrastructure )
Act 2006.
One of the major changes included in the revised Regulations
includes the introduction of a standardised planning application form, which
will apply to all Local Authorities. Currently, any individual seeking planning
permission, is required to fill out a form applicable only to Sligo Borough
Council.
Please note that new forms of Site Notice and Site Notice Further
Information/Revised Plans, must also be used in respect of all planning
applications submitted as from 31st March 2007.
