In accordance with Part V Planning & Development Act 2000, Sligo Borough Council
will have a limited number of Affordable Houses which are due to be completed in
the foreseeable future.
These houses will be offered to eligible first time purchasers at cost price.

Eligibility criteria as follows;
Qualifying applicants:
If you are:
-
In need of housing and your income satisfies the income
test
-
A person whose application for local authority housing has
been approved by the local authority, or
-
A local authority tenant or tenant purchaser who wishes to
buy a private house and to return your present house to the local authority, or
-
A tenant for more than one year of a house provided by a
voluntary body under the Rental Subsidy Scheme who wishes to buy a private house
and return your present house to the voluntary
Income limits:
Single Income household:
Gross income (before tax) in last income tax year did not exceed €40,000.
Two Income household:
Gross income (before tax) of the principal earner in the last income tax year
multiplied by 2.5 added to the gross income of the subsidiary (lesser) earner is
less than €100,000.
