LitterLitter continues to be a major problem in Ireland. It is one of the main complaints visitors have and it seems the problem is getting worse.

Enforcing the Law - The Litter Warden ServiceThe Litter Warden is responsible for enforcing the Litter Pollution Act 1997 and the Waste Management Act 1996. Sligo Borough Council has 1 full time litter warden who will issue verbal/written warnings, on the spot fines of €150 and investigate cases of illegal dumping.
