Remedial Works Scheme for Jinks Avenue

Sligo Borough Council has confirmed a Remedial Works Scheme for Jinks Avenue is soon to start.

Jinks Avenue is a housing estate consisting of 100 No. houses, constructed in the early 1940s. The estate is in need of renewal and is a mix of houses which are in private ownership as well as those in the ownership of Sligo Borough Council. Proposals have been ongoing with the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government for some time to progress a Remedial Works Scheme for Jinks Avenue. A comprehensive submission, following an open tender competition, was submitted by Sligo Borough Council to the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government last year. Following approval of the Scheme by the Department this year, a contract was signed by McCann Brothers (Irl) Ltd. McCann’s have been involved in a number of similar schemes most notably the Garavogue Villas refurbishment in Sligo.  The duration of the project is approximately 24 months.

The Jinks Avenue Remedial Works Scheme is one of a number of Regeneration/Refurbishment and New Build Schemes which are currently being promoted by Sligo Borough Council and we are committed to delivering a high quality Remedial Works Scheme to the Jinks Avenue residents. Once improved, this estate will contribute significantly to the quality of the urban environment within Sligo city.
