Preliminary Design N4
The Preliminary Design and environmental studies will be completed for N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin this year and this scheme will be ready to proceed to CPO stage, subject to approval and funding from the NRA.

Road Improvements at Ballinafad and Drumiskabole
New road markings including a right turning lane have been provided on the N4 south of Ballinafad village. This work has been funded under the National Primary Accident/ Remedial Safety Measures Scheme.  A Road re-alignment scheme is being carried out on Regional Road R 284 between Drumiskabole and Ballygawley. Rock excavation is almost completed and work on the new alignment will get underway shortly.

Ballymote Housing Scheme Completed
Sligo County Council has completed the second phase of a housing scheme at Camross, Ballymote. The 16 unit scheme has seen the provision of twelve 3 bed houses and four 2 bed houses.  Work is also well advanced on a six unit housing scheme in Culfadda. and a new 10 unit scheme will shortly proceed to part 8 planning.

Works Completed at Ballintogher
The programme of works at Kingsfort Estate in Ballintogher have been completed. The works included the construction of an access road and footpaths. Work has started on the provision of public lighting, and it is expected the lights will be in place by the end of September.

Farm Plastics
Ballymote Mart has been designated as one of the county’s four collection points for farm plastics. At the June meeting of Sligo County Council, Environment confirmed that collection points will also be located in Templeboy, Union Quarry Ballygawley and Cartronmore, Drumcliffe.
