N4/N15 Realignment to County Boundary
Sligo County Council intends to carry out preliminary investigation works as follows:
- Detailed Topographical Survey of approximately 750 hectares along the proposed N4/N15 Realignment Sligo to County Boundary from Hughes Bridge in Sligo Town to Bunduff Bridge on the Sligo/Leitrim Border. This involves surveying all existing features such as buildings externally, dwellings externally, walls, entrances, roadways, kerbs, trees, manholes, etc. within an agreed corridor as defined by Sligo County Council. All personnel involved shall carry identification badges. Expected Timescale: 18 weeks (weather permitting).
- Preliminary Ground Investigation along the proposed N4/N15 Realignment Sligo to County Boundary from Hughes Bridge in Sligo Town to Bunduff Bridge on the Sligo/Leitrim Border. This involves drilling of boreholes, excavation of trial pits, probing, geophysical surveying, slit trenching, falling weight deflectometer tests, ground water and river water sampling and monitoring as well as ancillary works at locations specified by Sligo County Council. All personnel involved shall carry identification badges. Expected Timescale: 10 weeks (weather permitting).
