Household Hazardous Waste Collection



Do you need to get rid of old batteries, aerosols, pesticides, etc?

A Household Hazardous Waste Collection is being held on Saturday 27th September 2008 at the following locations:

  • Greenstar Recycling Depot, Deepwater Quay, Sligo from 9.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
  • The Tubbercurry Recycling Centre from 10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.

The following items may be safely disposed of:

  • Paints
  • Strippers
  • Thinners
  • Herbicides
  • Pesticides
  • Cleaning Agents Obsolete Household Medicines
  • Fluorescent Tubes
  • Light Bulbs
  • Household Batteries
  • Waste Oils
  • Aerosols

Please note that there is limited capacity in the Chem-car therefore when containers are full, excess material must be refused.  Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

This service is provided for household hazardous wastes only and commercial wastes will not be accepted.
