Sligo Borough Council has made Bye-Laws under the Road Traffic Act 1994, to facilitate the following:
“that vehicles parked in Casual Trading Areas during hours of trading will be removed by Sligo Borough Council at the expense of the owner”
“that vehicles parked in Disabled Parking Bays, during business hours, not displaying valid disabled parking permits, will be removed by Sligo Borough Council at the expense of the owner”
“that vehicles other than Buses parked in Bus parking bays during business hours will be removed by Sligo Borough Council at the expense of the owners”.
“to reduce the minimum parking period at all on street parking place locations from one hour to 20 minutes, (with the exception of the on-street parking place locations listed below) and accordingly to reduce the minimum parking charge payable to 40 cents”.
“that the fee for a parking in respect of the following On-street locations only be changed from €1.20 per hour to €2.50 for a period of up to one day”.

A copy of the Bye-Laws are available for public inspection free of charge at the offices of the Town Clerk, City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo, between the hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm – Monday to Friday.
These Bye Laws will come into effect on 14th July, 2008.
