Temporary Closing of Road - for Motor Rally 13th July 2008



TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS, SECTION 75 OF THE ROADS ACT, 1993

Notice is hereby given of the intention of Sligo County Council to close to public traffic the roads listed hereunder during the periods indicated on Sunday, 13th July, 2008 to facilitate the holding of a Motor Rally by Connacht Motor Club (Sligo) Ltd.

  1. Period of Proposed Closure 09.00 to 18.30.
    From Junction of L-3407-0 with Local Road L-7421-0 at Shannon Oughter to Kiltycooly, to Local Road L-7412-0 at Drum East to Lislahelly, to Local Road L-3403-40 at Lislahelly to Glen Upper, to Local Road L-3404-0 at Glen Upper to Tormore to the Leitrim County Boundary.

    Alternative route will be via the National Road N16 from the Leitrim County Boundary to Barroe, Local Road L-7421-0 in Barroe, Local Road L-7422-0 from Barroe to Shannon Eighter, Old N15 Bundoran Road in Shannon Eighter, N15 National Primary Road from Shannon Eighter to Rathcormack and Local Road L-7408-0 from Rathcormack to Ballynagalliagh, and Local Road L-3403-0 from Ballynagalliagh to Lislahelly.

  2. Period of Proposed Closure 10.00 to 20.00
    From Leitrim County Boundary with the Regional Road R278 at Carrickoneilleen to Loughanelteen, to Local Road L-74182-0 at Loughanelteen to Formoyle, to Local Road L-7418-29 at Formoyle to Carrowlustia, to Local Road L7417-0 at Carrowlustia  to Glackbaun, to Local Road L-7416-0 at Glackbaun to its junction with the National Primary Road N16 at Drumkilsellagh.

    Alternative route will be via the National Primary Road N16 at Drumkilsellagh to Bellanode, Local Road L-3407-22 from Barraroe to Formoyle, Regional Road R278 from Bellanode to Formoyle and Regional Road R286 from the Leitrim County Boundary to Bellanode.

In the interests of safety, it is proposed to also close roads adjoining the above mentioned routes for a distance of 200 metres.

Any person aggrieved by the proposed closure may lodge a written objection setting out the grounds therefore with the Director of Services, Infrastructural Services Section, Sligo County Council, Governor’s House, St. Anne’s Place, Sligo, not later than 5.00 pm on Tuesday, 24th June, 2008.
