Public Information Meeting on Radon Gas

Radon is a naturally-occurring radioactive gas. Because of the high radon levels recorded in much of County Sligo, Sligo County Council is holding a Public Information Meeting on Radon Gas, in conjunction with the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII). This important, awareness-raising event is aimed at householders and workplace-owners.

The meeting will commence with a talk by David Fenton, Manager, Radon Advice Section, RPII, who will explain radon’s characteristics and effects, outline its prevalence in County Sligo and provide information on monitoring and protection. This will be followed by a Question & Answer session.

The public are encouraged to attend this event, which will take place:

On: Tuesday 8th December, 2009, at 7.30 pm

In: Council Chamber, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside,  Sligo
