Long and Short Term Leasing of Private Dwellings as a Means of Meeting Housing Need

LONG AND SHORT TERM LEASING OF PRIVATE DWELLINGS AS A MEANS OF MEETING HOUSING NEED

Further to initiative introduced by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, Sligo Borough Council and Sligo County Council are accepting applications from property owners who are interested in entering into arrangements with the councils to make their properties available for leasing for the purpose of assisting with accommodation of persons in need of housing. 

Lease arrangements generally will be for a period of between 5 years and 20 years and are subject to negotiation. Properties are required in both rural and urban areas.

Areas of highest need are Sligo city, Strandhill, Ballisodare, Collooney and North Sligo.
