Funding For Youth Cafés

Sligo County Development Board invites applications under the Youth Café Funding Scheme which will be administered by Pobal on behalf of the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.

Strand 1 – Small Scale Funding for Existing Youth Cafes.
The sum of €10,000 is available which may be divided between up to three existing facilities within the county.

Strand 2 – The Establishment of New Youth Cafes
Up to €100,000 is available for a maximum of 15 venues nationally.

Applicant organisations should be:

• Involved in the provision of community based services for young people.  Strand 2 applications must be on a consortium basis.
• Applicants with a strong track record (i.e. three years experience) of providing services to young people.
• Applicants that demonstrate their project is substantially ready to progress.

Staff costs are not eligible for funding.

Applications will be assessed by Sligo County Development Board and those selected will be forwarded to Pobal for final approval.   Applicants should note that a nomination by Sligo County Development Board does not guarantee funding.
