Register of Electors 2010/2011
REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS 2010/2011- COUNTY SLIGO
The Draft Register of Electors 2010/2011 is now being compiled. The Register of Electors, based on the revised Draft Register, will come into effect on 15th February 2010.
Only persons whose names appear on the Register of Electors will be entitled to vote in Referenda and/or Dail or Local Government Elections and/or European Assembly Elections held between 15th February 2010 and 14th February 2011.
Sligo County Council, as Registration Authority, takes every possible care to ensure that the names of eligible persons are included on the Register.
EVERY PERSON WHO WILL HAVE REACHED 18 YEARS OF AGE ON OR BEFORE 15TH FEBRUARY 2010 should ensure his/her inclusion on the Register by submitting an application form to the Corporate Services Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo or by contacting the Field Officer for the area, not later than 1st October, 2009.
REMINDER - YOU CANNOT VOTE UNLESS YOUR NAME IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTER.
SPECIAL VOTERS’ LIST
If you have a physical illness or physical disability that is likely to continue for the duration of the Register (12 months from 15th February 2010), and you are ordinarily resident in a hospital, in a nursing home or similar institution for persons with a physical illness or physical disability, you should now apply for inclusion on the Special Voters List 2010/2011 by completing an application form SV1.
POSTAL VOTERS’ LIST
Postal Voters List for electors living at home who are unable to go in person to vote because of a physical illness or disability
If you have a physical illness or physical disability that is likely to continue for the duration of the Register (12 months from the 15th February, 2010) and you are unable to go in person to vote at your polling station due to same and you wish to vote by post from your home, you should now apply for inclusion on the Disabled Postal Voters List 2010/2011, by completing an application form PV1.
Postal Voters List for electors unable to vote at their polling station due to circumstances of occupation/education:
If you are likely to be unable to go in person on polling day to vote at your polling station because of circumstances of occupation, service or employment, or because you are participating on a full-time basis on an educational course of study at an educational institution in the State, you should now apply for inclusion on the Postal Voters List 2010/2011 by completing an application form PV2.
Postal Voters List for electors unable to vote at their polling station due to circumstances of their detention in a prison pursuant to an order of a court.
If you are likely to be unable to go in person on polling day to vote at your polling station because of the circumstances of your detention in a prison pursuant to an order of a court, you should now apply for inclusion on the Postal Voters List 2010/2011 by completing an application form RFG.
Application forms for inclusion in the Postal Voters List and Special Voters list are available from Sligo County Council, all post offices and Garda Stations in County Sligo, all Sligo County Council Area Offices and County Library, Stephen Street, Sligo. Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 25th November, 2009.
