Notification of Annual Meeting
The annual Meeting of Sligo Borough Council will convene on 15th June 2009 at 12.00 noon.
First business will be Election of Mayor. This meeting is the first meeting of the newly Elected Council following the local elections held on 5th June 2009.
Local Authorities by virtue of their democratic mandate make appointments to a range of bodies. Sligo Borough Council makes appointments to the following bodies ;
- Sligo North West Airport Company Limited
- Border Regional Authority Operational Committee
- Hawks Well Theatre Limited
- Association of Municipal Authorities of Ireland
- Local Authority Members Association
- Sligo Harbour Advisory Group
- Chairperson and Directors of Sligo Regional Sports Centre Ltd.
- Chairperson and Three Members of Sligo Access Committee
- Chairperson and Members of Cranmore Regeneration Sub-Committee
- County Sligo Vocational Education Committee
- Model Arts and Niland Gallery
- Marketing Sligo Forum
- Joint Policing Committee
- Sligo Live Committee
- Northwest Tourism Authority
- Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurance Ltd.
- Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee
- Sligo Sport & Recreation Partnership
At this Annual Meeting the Council will consider the making of appointments (councillor and non councillor where appropriate) to these bodies. It should be noted however that appointments to some, under the relevant statutory or other provisions applicable or at the council’s discretion may fall to be considered and made at a later date to the annual meeting.
