With less two weeks to go until Rally Ireland sees the World Rally Championship come to these shores for the first time on the 15th-18th of November, it’s time for spectators to begin planning how to get the best out of all the action.
The Roscommon stage of Rally Ireland will see competitors pass through the village of Arigna, close to the borders of both Sligo and Leitrim, on Friday the 16th of November.
There is good parking on the approach road to Arigna Village but access to the village itself for spectating will be restricted after the passage of the safety cars so you are advised to arrive early.
The Tyrone stages of Rally Ireland will see competitors pass through Sloughan Glen, Murley and Fardross on Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of November.
With regard to Sloughan Glen, the Rally Route approaches the stage from the West through Pettigo and Drumskinny and this must be kept clear, as for Murley and Fardross the key advice is to approach both stages via the A4 and to park on verge of the A4.
The Sligo stages of Rally Ireland will see competitors pass through the villages of Geevagh, Lough Gill and Mullaghmore on Friday the 16th and Sunday the 18th of November.
Travelling from Sligo to Geevagh leave the N4 and head East along the R284. This is a Rally Route and must be kept clear so be careful not to obstruct it.
Regarding Lough Gill there will be parking restrictions in Dromahair village and it is recommended that you allow extra time to get to the stage. At Mullaghmore, the final stage of Rally Ireland, parking on the Rally Route to the east of the N15 is prohibited and cars parked on it will be towed.
The Leitrim stage of Rally Ireland will see competitors pass through the villages of Glenboy and Drumshanbo, on Friday the 16th of November. Regarding the Glenboy stage, there is limited parking on the N16 and any cars causing an obstruction will be towed.
The rally route passes through Drumshanbo and onto the R207 to go back to the final service of the day in Sligo. Care should be taken not to obstruct the Rally Route.
The Fermanagh stages of Rally Ireland will see competitors pass through the villages of Tempo and Ballinamallard on Saturday the 17th of November. The key advice is to avoid these villages as any cars parked there will be towed.
The Donegal stage of Rally Ireland will see competitors drive along Donegal Bay on the final day of the rally, Sunday the 18th of November.
If approaching the stage from the North via the R231 remember that the Rally Route uses the R231 from Ballintra to access the start and it must be kept clear.
