Public Consultation in the Western River Basin District

Water Matters

A number of public consultation meetings are being planned for the Western RBD region on the Water Matters Booklet. The format of the event will be informal, consisting of a number of tables where people can access information, discuss the issues that impact on water in the lakes and rivers and groundwaters in their area.  River Basin District Project staff and the Local Authorities will be on hand to provide information.

 Format for evening:

7.00 pm - Welcome/Introduction
7.15 pm - Brief Overview of the Water Matters Booklet.
7.30 pm - Refreshments and opportunity to view Water Framework Directive DVD
7.45 pm - Informal Discussion Groups on key water management issues
9.00pm - Close                                                                                                  

Discussion Groups

There will be 3 tables staffed by members of the Project team/ Local Authority and the issues will be divided among each table as below.  Each table will be equipped with a laptop and presentations on each of the issues will have been prepared in advance (with focus on local region of where meeting is being held).  Project team members will be available at each table to provide advice and support.

Those attending will be advised on how best to make a submission to the Western River Basin District on the Water Matters Booklet.
