01/05/2007 -
Closing date for inclusion on the Supplement to the Register of Electors is next Saturday 5th May.
You can still vote in the forthcoming General Election, even though you are not on the 2007/2008 Register of Electors, if, on application to Sligo County Council, you are included in a Supplement to the Register.
A supplement is a last chance for the electorate to have their names included on a list to be eligible to vote. A Supplement to the Register of Electors is printed by the local authority as soon as possible after the 14th day before Polling Day and contains additional names of those who register and are eligible to be included.
To be included in the Supplement, you must:
- be at least 18 years of age;
- be ordinarily resident at the address at which you wish to be registered;
And
- not be already registered as an elector (except in the case of a change of address).
You can check the Register on-line at
www.checktheregister.ie or at the Corporate Services Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo, at your local Post Office, Public Library, Garda Station, and at the office of the County Registrar, Courthouse, Sligo.
If you are not already on the Register, you can apply to be included in the Supplement by filling out the green form (RFA2), available at any of the above locations, or also by downloading it from Sligo County Council’s website at
www.sligococo.ie and by posting or delivering it to Corporate Services Section, Sligo County Council, County Hall, Riverside, Sligo, to arrive not later than 5th May, 2007
If you are on the Register of Electors and have moved residence from one constituency to another or within a constituency (different local electoral area) you may apply for entry to the supplement using the pink form RFA3.
