The meeting commenced at 9am
Mayor Matt Lyons chaired the meeting.
Rory O’Connor, Sligo Live Festival Producer addressed the meeting and responded to all items raised by the Members at meeting held on 15th June 2010.
The producers of the Sligo Live Festival agreed to meet with the Committee at a mutually agreed date to discuss the Future Plans for Sligo Live and funding of same. It was further agreed that the Sligo Live Producers would submit a three year plan, together with revised projections which would include detail of the level of private funding.
The Mayor thanked Sligo Live Festival Producers for attending the meeting.
Following discussion by the members, concerns were expressed regarding the level of private funding, the lack of visible activity in the Town Centre during the festival and requested that these matters be addressed in any future plans for Sligo Live Festival. It was unanimously agreed by the members present to award grant of €24,300 to Sligo Live Festival in 2010.
The Members agreed to allocate €18,000 to the Model Arts and Niland Gallery.
Councillor Bree dissented from the decision.
The members considered other Submissions received.
It was agreed that the following payments would be made:
