Minutes of Meeting to consider Allocations under Programme 4.5.8 of Budget 2010 held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday 23rd March 2010 at 9am.

- The Members requested details of Criteria for Size of Green Areas from Parks Department for next Sub Committee meeting.
The members then considered other submissions received:
Sligo Yacht Club Hosting International Sailing Event The Mirror European Championships 16th – 20th August 2010.
The members of the Grant Sub Committee requested that Sligo Borough Council write to Sligo Yacht Club requesting that the Club provide more information on the Sailing Events and also to confirm details of events being organised within the town of Sligo during the week of the championships in August 2010.
The Model Arts and Niland Gallery.
The members requested that Sligo Borough Council write to The Model advising them the Committee cannot made a decision on funding until the Model submit their Financial Statement for 2009 for consideration.
Sligo Live Festival
Following consideration of the accounts the members agreed to defer a decision on funding the Sligo Live Festival until the next meeting.
Hawks Well Theatre
It was agreed that Sligo Borough Council write to Hawks Well Theatre to advise that the Grant Sub Committee cannot consider their submission without a copy of the Hawks Well Theatre’s Financial Statement for 2009.
Sligo Field Club 2nd Summer Conference 7th – 9th May 2010
Ballymote: A Gaelic Centre: Provisionally Awarded €500
It was agreed to award a grant of €500 to Sligo Field Club as a general acknowledgement of the work they do.

- The Members requested that Sligo Borough Council contact Sligo Marketing Forum to invite Shelia Garrett Haran to attend the next Grants Sub Committee Meeting to discuss the various performances and events held in Sligo, and to advise the members of the economic benefits and spin offs of such events for Sligo particularly within the Borough.
- It was agreed that the next meeting should take place in May 2010 - date to be agreed with the Mayor.
The meeting concluded at 9.45am.
