It was proposed by Councillor J. McGarry, seconded by Councillor Declan Bree to adjourn the meeting to 11.00am as the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the impasse in the Cranmore Regeneration Project with Mr Michael Finneran T.D., Minister for Housing and Local Services who was to attend the meeting at 11.00am

Councillor Jim McGarry welcomed Mr Michael Finneran T.D., Minister for Housing and Local Services and thanked him for taking time to address Sligo Borough Council. The Mayor continued by saying that the Members of Sligo Borough Council were concerned with the lack of progress regarding the Cranmore Regeneration project and saw the Minister’s visit as a positive step in trying to move the project forward.Councillor David Cawley proposed, seconded by Councillor Jude Devins and agreed
“That Sligo Borough Council adjourn the meeting to 12.15pm to facilitate a meeting with the Minister for Housing and Local Services re: The Cranmore Regeneration Project – this is in recognition of the busy itinerary and the limited time available today due to other commitments of the Minister”.

Proposed by Councillor Declan Bree, seconded by Councillor Chris MacManus and unanimously agreed that “Given that the new Sligo and Environs Development Plan 2010-2016 is now in place this Council requests the Government and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to sanction the preparation of the revised Framework/Masterplan for the regeneration of the Cranmore Estate, and further the Council asks that there be full and comprehensive consultation with the local community in terms of preparing the Plan”
