The Council extended their congratulations to Ms Mary Cullen on her recent win and on breaking Sonia O Sullivan’s indoor 3000 metre record.
Councillor Bree proposed, Councillor Mac Sharry seconded and it was unanimously agreed ‘’
That Standing Orders be suspended so as to allow the Council to consider the following emergency motion:–
Cognisant of the fact that Sligo Borough Council at its Special meeting to consider the Proposed Draft Sligo and Environs Development Plan 2010 – 2016 held on Monday 22nd December 2008, adopted a motion instructing that all references to the T1.3 and T2.7 be deleted from the Plan, and further that the instructions contained in that motion have not been complied with (see text on pages 50, 51, 52, 53 and on Map Number 2 in purported Draft Development Plan) this Council instructs the County Manager to immediately withdraw the document purporting to be the Draft Sligo and Environs Development Plan 2010 – 2016 which is currently on public display, and instructs the County Manager to replace it with the Draft Sligo and Environs Development Plan 2010 – 2016 that was approved by the Council on the 22nd December 2008.
Both the proposal to suspend Standing Orders and the Motion were unanimously agreed.

On the proposed of Councillor D Bree seconded by Councillor O Grady a list of Conferences circulated with Agenda on 11th February 2009 was unanimously approved.
On the proposal of Councillor Bree, seconded by Councillor O Grady it was unanimously agreed to dispose of the land at 21 St Annes Terrace in accordance with the notice dated 16th January 2009.
This concluded the business of the meeting which ended at 8.35 pm.
