Minutes of February Monthly Meeting of Sligo Borough Council held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Sligo on Monday 4th February 2008 at 8.00 p.m.IN ATTENDANCE:

APOLOGY FOR INABILITY TO ATTEND:
1. VOTE OF SYMPATHY AND ADJOURNMENTThe Mayor proposed and Councillor Devins seconded a vote of sympathy to Mr Ray MacSharry and the MacSharry Family, ‘Alcantara’, Pearse Road, Sligo on the death of his wife Elaine. He also proposed that the meeting of the Council be adjourned as a mark of respect to the deceased whose husband is a Freeman and Former member of this Council and of Sligo County Council, former holder of the positions of Tanaiste, Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Finance as well as E.U. Commissioner. All the members joined in the expression of sympathy and agreed unanimously to adjourn the meeting as a mark of respect. The Director of Services joined in the expression of sympathy on behalf of the staff. The sympathy of the Council was also extended to Mr John Cunniffe and Family, Cliffoney, Co. Sligo on the death of his son Sean. Mrs Kathleen Hannon and Family, Jinks Avenue, Sligo on the death of her husband Jack The Chrystal Family, Benbulben Terrace, Sligo on the death of their sister Pauline. This concluded the business of the meeting which ended at 8.15 pm and stood adjourned to Monday 18th February 2008 at 8.00pm. It was unanimously agreed to also hold a February General Purposes Meeting on this date after the business of the monthly meeting has been completed. Meeting Date 04/02/2008 |
