Minutes of April General Purposes Meeting of Sligo Borough Council held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Sligo on Monday 21st April 2008 at 8.00 p.m.

1. VOTE OF SYMPATHY AND ADJOURNMENT

The Mayor proposed and Councillor Bree seconded a vote of sympathy to Mrs Nora Carroll and Family Carney Village, Sligo on the death of her husband Michael, A Former Mayor, Freeman and Member of Sligo Borough Council.

All the members joined in the expression of sympathy and agreed unanimously to adjourn the meeting as a mark of respect.

The sympathy of the Council was also extended to the following:

• Mrs Maeve Hillary and Family, Dublin on the death of her husband Former President Dr Paddy Hillary
• Mr John Middleton and Family, 10 Old Market Street, Sligo on the death of his wife Mary.
• The McGee Family, Faughts, Dunally on the death of their brother Aidan McGee
• The Jones Family on the death of their mother Mrs Caroline Jones, Treacy Avenue, Sligo.
• Ms A. Jones joined in the expression of sympathy on behalf of the staff.
  

2. GET WELL WISHES

The Get Well Wishes were extended to Mr Paul Newton, Ballydoogan who is recovering after being injured in Belfast.

This concluded the business of the meeting which ended at 8:15pm and stood adjourned to Monday 28th April 2008 at 8.00 pm
