Minutes of June General Purposes Meeting of Sligo Borough Council held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Sligo on Monday 16th June 2008 at 8.00 p.m.

1. VOTE OF SYMPATHY
The sympathy of the Council was also extended to the following:
- The Dunleavy Family, on the death of Vincent Dunleavy, St Jospehs Terrace, Sligo.
- The Chadda Family on the death of Mr. Johnny Chadda, Circular Road, Sligo.
- The Kerrigan Family on the death of their daughter Ann, Towneymoyle, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim.
- The Mc Evoy Family on the death of their daughter Aoife, Drumcliffe, Sligo.
- The Hynes-Conboy Family on the death of their mother Teresa, 47, St. Anne’s Terrace, Sligo.
- Ms Breda Roberts on the death of her mother Lillian Fairweather.
- The Kelly and O’ Sullivan Families, Rahaberna, Drum, Sligo on the death of their son.
All the Members joined in the expressions of sympathy.
2. PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
A list of Planning Applications received which was circulated with agenda on 11th June 2008 was read and noted.
3. PLANNING DECISIONS MADE
A list of Planning Decisions made which was circulated with Agenda on 21st May 2008 was noted
4. CONFERENCES
On the proposed of Councillor T Mc Loughlin seconded by Councillor J Devins a list of Conferences circulated with Agenda on 11th June 2008 was unanimously approved.
5. ADOPTION OF CEMETERY BYE-LAWS 2008
On the proposed of Councillor C Mac Manus seconded by Councillor D. Cawley it was agreed that consideration of the adoption of the Cemetery Bye-Laws would be deferred until the July G P Meeting.
6. APPROVAL UNDER PART XI OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 – PUBLIC PARK AT FORTHILL, CONNAUGHTON ROAD, RATHQUARTER TD, SLIGO
A report of the A/Senior Executive Planner of 10/06/2008 had been circulated to the Council. On the proposal of Councillor A Gibbons, seconded by Councillor D Cawley it was unanimously decided to approve this proposal.
7. DEFERRAL OF MOTIONS FROM THE MONTHLY MEETING AGENDA
On the proposal of Councillor Mc Loughlin it was unanimously agreed to defer consideration of motions from the monthly agenda.
This concluded the business of the meeting which ended at 8:35pm
