  2. Matters arising from the Minutes.
  3. To approve, pursuant to Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001, the disposal of property by way of lease at St Anne’s Terrance Sligo, in accordance with notice circulated to Members on 23rd November, 2011.
  4. To note National Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment (PRFA)’. (PFRA Summary Phamplet and Report of A/Director of ServicesPaula R Gallagher attached herewith)
  5. To agree date of January 2012 Monthly Meeting .and January 2012 GP Meeting

 

DEFERRED MOTIONS

  1. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Arthur Gibbons
    “That this Borough Council calls on the Minister of the Environment and local Government to implement a full restructure of the elector of register’s where the PPS number is the sole basis that the register of electors is compiled and that adequate funding is supplied to each local authority to implement this process a copy of this motion to be sent to all local authority within the state.”
  2. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Chris MacManus
    To ask the Executive for an update on the progress in creating a playground in the Fairgreen.’ 
  3. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Jim McGarry
    “that Sligo Borough Council call on Deputy Tony McLoughlin to source funding from the Department of the Environment for the completion of the T2-T12 linking Mail Coach Road with Connolly Street”    
  4. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Jim McGarry
    “That Sligo Borough Council opposes the introduction of a household tax as it is a prelude to a property tax and will adversely affect the disadvantaged in our society”
  5. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Chris MacManus
    “That Sligo Borough Council consider installing further traffic calming measures along Gallows Hill in the MCR area”
  6. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Jim McGarry
    “That Sligo Borough Council takes in charge the Larkhill Court Estate, Sligo”
  7. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Marcella McGarry
    “that contact be made with Cranmore Regeneration Team to ascertain their ability to spend the €500,000 allocation given to approve works and report be given to this Council before the next meeting”
  8. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Declan Bree
    “noting that the Council decided at its meeting on the 7th of March 2011 that a Loading Bay be provided at St Michael’s Terrace so as to allow lorries to deliver coal, oil and other items to householders, without interfering with the traffic flow; this Council now calls on the County Manager to have the decision implemented before the end of the year”
     

MOTIONS

  1. To  consider the following motion received from Councillor Veronica Cawley
    “that Sligo Borough Council calls on the Government to give the Local Authorities the right to first refusal to houses that are currently in the ownership of NAMA
  2. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Declan Bree
    “Concerned at the refusal of the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly T.D., to meet with a deputation from the Save Our Cancer Services NW to discuss the re-opening of the Breast Cancer Service in Sligo General Hospital; and recognising the pressing need to have the service restored; this Council calls on the Minister for Health to reverse his decision and to meet with the deputation from the Save Our Cancer Services committee without undue delay; and further this Council calls on Government Oireachtas members from the area to make the necessary representations to ensure that the meeting with the Minister takes place.”
  3. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Declan Bree
    “That Councillors be advised by e-mail, when applications are made and licences issued to excavate public roads and footpaths.”
  4. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Declan Bree
    “To ask the Manager (a) how many inspections of private rented dwellings the Council has undertaken each year for the last four years; (b) what income if any, the Council receives to fund the carrying out of such inspections; (c) how many private rented dwellings are registered in Sligo; (d) what percentage of the overall stock of private rented dwellings in Sligo are estimated to be registered and (e)what actions if any have been taken following the inspection of these dwellings?”
  5. To consider the following motion received from Councillor Arthur Gibbons
    “that this Borough Council calls on the Coalition government’s of this state and in particular Mr Alan Shatter Minister for Justice to desist from cutting the funding for the everyday running costs of  (PWD I) People with Disabilities in Ireland, “PWDI is the only voluntary umbrella disability group in Ireland”. A copy of this motion to be sent to every council within the state”
